Private Drum Lessons

Drum and Percussion lessons are available in a wide range of styles and instruments, with a teaching style adaptive to a range of learning styles and goals. From traditional Western drumming, including drum set, snare technique, marimba, etc. to various world percussion instruments and traditions including djembe, steel drum, berimbau, and didgeridoo, study with a skilled and learned percussionist. All ages and abilities welcome. Ellen Clegg is a particularly patient, kind, and intuitive teacher who always keeps the goals of the individual students in mind. She has taught a wide range of students, from beginner beginners to highly skilled musicians learning a new instrument. She has taught students with Down’s Syndrome, child and parent lessons, and school age students who’ve gone on to become college percussion majors, to name a few.

Step 1: How to arrange a lesson

Contact Ellen Clegg to discuss what drum you would like to learn, any specific goals you have, skill level, etc.

Step 2: Live in person or Live on-line?

Decide whether to meet in person (Western MA) for a lesson or arrange a lesson via Skype or iChat. Contact Ellen to set up a time. We will settle on the length of the lesson and cost.

Step 3: You may pay for the lesson through the website.

Any follow up materials (instruction sheets, etc) will be sent to you directly by Ellen.
